I've just been browsing over the Google Zeitgeist searches for 2012 , Google's yearly publication of what are the most popular searches for that year, worldwide and on a country basis.
The main odd thing I've found so far is Mcdonalds.Fr was the 5th most popular search in France! Which surprises me for a culinary nation such as France.
Am I missing something here? Was there some really big story about Mcdonalds in France this year?
As for UK results I'm also slighty confused that in the top trenders ("Search queries with the highest amount of traffic over a sustained period in 2012 as compared to 2011.") involving names of people there is: 1. Whitney Houston and 3. Gary Barlow, but in the top trenders involving names of musicians (a smaller subset?) Whitney and Gary aren't there?
