Google spider

For the last few weeks (maybe longer, I can't remember) a Google spider seems to be permanently on our site, whenever I look. Other spiders visit the site from time to time but Google seems to be on permanently. Is this normal? Is it a good thing? Is it related to the fact that we use their advertising programme?

Are you modifying the site every day? It usually depends if you do that, or if you have a big pr (6 or higher), google may crawl your page every day. They are also planing the pr update, which will be somewhere between 1 oct and 1 nov.

Might not be Google. Could be an email harvester or several portaying itself as Google to collect emails etc.
