I am having difficulty understanding the ins and outs of getting my products on to google shopping search results.

As far as i can work out i have 2 options;
1. A paid for campaign which advertises my products through set key words and phrases
2. Having them appear in search results through googles Shopping tab.

Number 2 being the one i have either misinterpreted or cant find a guide to doing so.

I have registered with Google merchant center and assigned GTIN numbers to my products so far...

Anyone with experience in using Google Shopping that can advise?

If you have an off-the-shelf e-commerce system (like Woocommerce or Magento), most provide plugins which you can install. They will generate the feed for you and even upload it directly to Merchant Center.

Just make sure you read all of Google's documentation, as the requirements are getting more and more strict these days.

To have them appear in Google Shopping, you'll have to create an Adwords account and link the Adwords and Merchant Center accounts together. You can then create all the usual settings for your shopping campaign via the Adwords interface.

Hi, two more steps to go! You need to submit a 'Google shopping feed' and then create your AdWords account/campaign.

To have them appear in Google Shopping, you'll have to create an Adwords account and link the Adwords and Merchant Center accounts together. You can then create all the usual settings for your shopping campaign via the Adwords interface.

I should have mentioned, i have also completed this step.

So all results on google shopping are placed through paid for campaigns, right?

Correct. You pay per click for Google Shopping, just like Adwords, except the CPC is usually a lot lower than text ads. Plus, they tend to convert better as users can see the product description, image and price before they decide whether to click.
