Ifelt compelled to give an update on this post with my personal experience with recaptcha v3. I'm quite disappointed.

How recaptcha v3 works is quite different to v2, you have to call the v3 script on your whole site, so its running on every page of your site. This wouldn't be much of a problem if it was not a serious webpage speed KILLER.

I'm not joking it really trashes webpage speed.

In the end IT IS NOT WORTH IT, especially with googles new ranking algorithms preferring fast page load times, paint times and efficient resource optimisation for mobile.

Do yourself a favour and opt for server side solutions such as Immunify360 which we have been using now for a few months and is thwarting almost all spam, without any webpage speed affected.
