Google Plus - profile or page? The difference?

Hi there,

Hoping someone can advise please.

I am totally confused with the new Google Plus layout and need some advice.

Can someone please explain in plain english the difference between a google plus profile and a google plus business page and why i would need to use both?! I realise the business page is related to Google plus my business but get totally confused as to where i should be posting!

I have been posting on my business page more than my profile page so have more followers to the latter. Do I need the profile page or can i get rid of this and keep the business page instead. Can I somehow transfer followers over?

Hope this makes sense and i havent confused everyone as much as i have myself!!!

Kind regards

Hey it was actually a confusion. A business page, a youtube channel and Google+ all were attached. But now it is relaxed. Google have dropped Google+ now, so you can have stand alone page. Google my business interface is now pretty much cleaner and understandable. Add your business, verify and it star appearing on local listings. Add interior, exterior and team at work photos. There is many more information you can update.

Google my business helps your business get found in Google search results and map results especially for local searches. It's also an opportunity to showcase your business and give as much info about it as possible to potential customers. If you want to know a bit more about creating a google my business profile you can watch this little video I put together: add your business to Google maps
Google plus was google's response to Facebook. Although it didn't catch on Google went trough a redesign and are now focusing on communities as opposed to individuals. Being a Google product, there is still SEO value in it.

Hope this helps
