Google maps listing

Hi right I'll get straight to it....
I have registered with google maps/business/places which ever they want to be known as a good couple of months back, confirmed it by the little postcard they sent but still it is not showing?! I am just wondering if anyone has a link to a step by step so can get this sorted?
This should be so simple but it's driving me nuts as I can't find a simple click button to get it sorted!!

It takes some time for listing to appear on maps after it has been verified.

Yup, a few ago I was given a form and they phoned back instantly but now you gotta do it by email, and it takes a few days.

Btw I'm not sure you realise that it's not necessary your listing to appear in the top results of Google. Especially, if your company works in a highly competitive niche. You might have to register into multiple business directories like yelp and yell to reach the top positions on Google's local SERP.

When signed in to the gmail account you used to register go to plus.google.com click on the LH side there will be a drop down menu titled 'home', click here and select 'pages'. Here you will be able to see the status of your business page make amends and if needed go through verification steps (Due to places/local merge a few customers of ours have had to verify twice)

Mine doesn't show up at the moment but if you earch your business address and zoom into the area it should show up

Its not the basis to gain top rankings on Google local serp you need to establish your site first and gain trust from the targeted users.
