Google.Com > UK?

Is anyone else seeing that? If you go to the Google UK homepage, click goto Google.com and it redirects back to UK??

I know they made redirects throughout blogspot and other services... but it would be a real nose dive if they done it on search.

Can anyone confirm please?

Strange, it works on Chrome also. Just others it is UK only - which sucks

I hope that isn't a changing period but I could see it happening :|

Seems fine here on FF.
I click Go to google.com and it takes me to : http://www.google.com/ig

What, force the UK TLD? They changed this just last month or so on Blogspot yet not on search.

It is still hit and miss for me (fine on Chrome, direct link but not on Firefox), I thought I were going to have to buy a new server - don't mind me

Yes but you can still go to Google.com afterwards, but today I couldn't.

The link taking you to the .com hasn't.
It used to go via ncr, looks like they have messed up.

????? confusing thread but customisation determined which tld you went to, but then you have an option to go to .com .

if you do a search click on web history and disable it you could set up .com as default. not sure when that had become overwritten though.

It's reverted back to normal for me again with a link in the bottom right saying Go to google.com which when clicked on takes you to google.com/ncr as it did before.

Not only in UK else in many countries actually Google offers country-specific sites. When you enter "Google.com" in the address bar, you're automatically directed to the site most appropriate for the country from which you are visiting Google. Google's country-specific sites are designated by the ending of the URL. Google in Japan, for example, has the URL "Google.co.jp." In France, you'll see "Google.fr" and in the United Kingdom, Google's URL is "Google.co.uk."

You can go to Google.com by include /ncr in the end of Google.com

The OP was talking about the link on the bottom right of the google.co.uk homepage that you can use to go to google.com.

For 2 or 3 days it was still sending us back to google.co.uk rather than sending us to google.com
It seems to be back to normal now though (or at least it is for me)

google.com/ncr was still working, I think they just had the wrong link on the page or were trying something out.

Well if not logged in - For years the default as been taking you to co.uk but you could choose .com and that would work fine. I noticed months ago this was not working and when I was in Boston I could not change to co.uk. Yet a few months before in Spain I could.

Google is so focused on snooping and finding every aspect of your search intentions they can't manage to maintain the basic setting.
