Google Authenticator on Android

Evening All, I have been posting for only a week or two and this is my first new thread, so here goes...…………..
For two-step authentication of an online software package I have signed up to, I am being prompted to install Google Authenticator on my mobile device.
However, this has presented something of a challenge for me as I have a Blackberry Classic which seems to prevent access to Google Play where I have been trying to download the Google Authenticator from.
The error messages are essentially saying that Google Play does not recognise my device and despite numerous attempts to fathom this out I have been unable to find a way of helping Google to recognise my Blackberry.
Has any of the community encountered this type of issue before and can anyone help?
Thanks, Ground Investigator

Not a problem, happy to help!

Another small tip is to use Authy rather than Google Authenticator. Authy supports all the 2FA codes that Google Authenticator does, but with Authy you can back up your codes or install Authy to another phone. Unfortunately you cannot easily move Google Authenticator to another phone.
