Google Apps (Premier) Mail & Folder Query

I've purchased the above premier service from Google and have moved 1 of my domains to the above for testing purposes.

My .PST file (for my real i.e. production address) has been imported in I can see all my historical emails.

I can't seem to get my head round why Googlemail doesn't have folders.

How can I manage these 1000's of historical emails and my new ones, going forward?

Gmail uses the concept of Labels, so you can create labels (equivalent to your folders, if you like), highlight the message then click to "Move to" to move it to the chosen label and it will move from your inbox to that label. Labels have a wider use than folders in that you can label a message with more than one label and arhive it and it then appears under all of the labels you've given it.

If you've got thousands of messages though, you might want to set aside a little time to do this....!

Thankfully, you can use Search to search my sender or subject perhaps and narrow down the number of mails you want to label in the same way (i.e. group together). That might make things a bit quicker.
