Hi

I was looking for some help on Goals, what I am trying to track is coversions, people who submit the offer form. When somebody fills in the offer form located here they are greeted with a thank your page located in quote below. I went to my analytics, set up a new goal, using the target url. I tried it as a visitor, but I can't see it in the analytics panel.

a. Either I have done it incorrectly.
b. It takes longer for anaytics to update?

Any help much appriciated.

Mod note: I tried to put the website in the quote, but still showing as link.

Depending on your volume of traffic and time in having it installed, updates can take hours to process.

Give it 24 hours and then check again. If you're still not seeing results, then rethink it.

Goals require little more than the first step (url 1) and a final step (url 2). As long as you've got them specified in the right places and pasted in the right URL, the only other thing that can go wrong is the 'match type'. You could double-check that, if you're having doubts.

Just a few of points to add...

Firstly your async GA tracking code for your site should be installed within the <head> section of your site template, currently it's in the <body>. Not a biggie but it helps for certain scenarios.

Your goal URL to track should be /thanks.php you don't need to include the full URL.

If you have set up IP filtering for your device / browser or you are using some form of exclusion then GA won't pick up your visit and consequently it won't pick up the goal completion.

Hope that helps.
