Hello there,

GA is doing my ***** head in!!

Its help section and forum are rubbish.

My site visit number and goal number havent changed since 25th June but I know for a fact we have had visits and have reached the goals we have setup.

Can anyone give me some pointers in laymans terms.

Please help!!

Annoyingly GA can take time to update compared to other stat sites.

Sometimes it even locks up and wont update for weeks then suddenly update.

I have personally taken GA off my site as it makes any UK based website illegal with regards to the new EU Cookie directive. ( not to mention that its useless )

Is there an alternative? One that gives us the marketing data we need

Piwik, it's an open source version you need to host on your website. I have started using it after a few people on here (including my favourite welsh seo) recommended it.

Download it from here, install the script then it will give you a peice of code similar to Google Analytics, to insert in your site.
