We have google alerts set up so it sends us information on keywords for our website.
I noticed yesterday that it showed on two of the links was a domain of a different name which we have redirecting to our website (this was our old company name which we kept live) - I would like to know if this would be classed a duplicate content??

Are you pointing links to the other domain from a site or just a straight redirect of the old domain name ie no site exists on the old domain?

If the redirection is there I would have thought that it would be ok.

Then there isnt another site so there is nothing to duplicate not that duplicate on another site really matters, its more about duplicate content on pages of the same site that matter.

You just have a simple old domain redirecting to your new one.
