Google Adwords

S-Marketing

The reason I ask btw is because I have no idea how Adwords works and how much £50 could get..... so less of sarcasm Est :p

I dont really understand what you mean by 'how much you could get'?

It depends how you use it, and how much you set up various things such as your cost per click and daily spend.

The first thing to do is either A; research what keywords would be best to target, or B; just set it up, use your voucher to have a play with it, and familiarise yourself with the basic principles.

Adwords you essentially bid for top places on the right hand side of google.

If the industry is competitive you could pay £1+ per click, then the £50 will go extremely quickly.

If you research less used keywords you could pay as little as 5p a click (I think, haven't used it for a while), Google adwords should have all the keyword tools you need to do this.

Have a look at your keywords in Google Tools and see how much it is in the traffic estimator for your keywords, Long tailed keywords will be cheaper and get you more targeted traffic.

£50 might get you a weeks worth of clicks depends what you sell ect

Its a bit hard trying to explain this stuff starting from scratch, however I can recommend a very good author on the subject. If you pop onto Amazon and look for "Ultimate Guide to Google Ad Words: How To Access 100 Million People in 10 Minutes" by Perry Marshall. That should defo send you on the right track. It's the only book I have used for stuff on this topic and its very good.

Feel free to pm me if you have any further questions, but I would defo recommend the book as a starting point.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Adwords advertising can seem a complex process and you can lose a lot of money very quickly if you aren't careful. However, it can also be highly effective when done properly (hence Google's multi-billion valuation!).

If you have the time to study, I would also advise Perry Marshall's book and his website may be the best starting point in understanding the process. Google's help facility is also very comprehensive however the suggestions are very much designed to extract money from you without necessarily doing so in the most cost-effective way for you, so a combination of the two would be perfect.

However if you're cash rich and time poor then you could consider a freelance/agency who would manage your campaign.

Your overall objective is the get the highest number of converting click thru's at the lowest possible cost per click, simple! :) Good luck.
