I use Google Adwords and although I do OK with it I know I'm not utilising it as well as I could. So I thought it may be a good idea to talk to a web company about my PPC Google campaign.
Somebody emailed me back asking for my Google client ID and then they'll be able to acces my account and have a look.

I wasn't sure about this. I have the credit card details and all the company info on the Google Adwords account I'm not cmfortable with somebody I barely know having access to this.

Does anyone know the situation here? Can I give access without them seeing the credit card details, etc, etc?

I realise they need to look at my account to see what can be improved. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

There are 2 ways you can provide access to your account either via user access or adding them as a client manager.

If they are asking for your client ID, then you will be adding them as a client manager... you can revoke this access at any time.

They will be able to view the Billing tab however your CC details only show the last 4 digits, they won't be able to access all your payment information.

Additionally you can use the Change History report to view what they do within the account if you want to keep a close eye on them.

Hope that helps...

All 100% as Andrew mentioned above...this is a very safe way to conduct Audits. We conduct these as part of our initial consultation so that we can truly assertain the issues and possible corrective steps we must make to increase the productivity of an account. You can always ask them to sign an NDA but it is usually a little extreem as everything that occurs within your account is recorded and again as Andrew mentioned we cant see the CC details in full....Can i suggest though that you get more than 1 company look and create audit but more importantly delete access as soon as they have finished their work...unless of course you are looking to work with them...
