good budget printer to print promo items?

Bit of a general question but i was wondering if anyone knows of a good budget printer from which i can print off leaflets, business cards etc. My advertising consists of a lot of print work and i am thinking it might be wise to invest in a printer instead of going to places like vista print who only seem good when you have a 100% free offer link. (to which they make up for in the rather expensive delivery and logo uploads and also tempt you with many, many, too many more offerings!)

So to come back to the point i think it would be wise for me to invest in a printer that will surfice for leaflets etc. can anyone recommend one?

For shot runs then a colour laser printer is ok, but if you are looking for larger runds, then the cost of the toners are way too expensive.

If you wish to use an inkject, then I would not bother at all.
