Going to need some SEO

Hi all, www.allroofingsolutions.com is my current home made website. I am about to have a new one made by a graphic designer friend of mine who confesses he has no idea about SEO. I am after someone who can get me onto the first page of google for the least amount of money. Im under the impression it wont be that difficult as im looking for local SEO, and the competition isn't that great. I am based in Bexhill, in East Sussex. The key words I am after are things like, Roofing company Bexhill, Roofing contractor Bexhill, Roofer, Leadwork, New roof, Roof repair, followed by either bexhill or sussex or the surrounding towns?
Any advice and quotes would be great.

You have more immediate problems than SEO. That lovely image you have of the rooftop is in fact a 4Mb image with dimensions 3,648px × 2,736px that you're having each visitor to your website download and then resize to 300 pixels wide. In fact you have quite a few such images on your site, I think your web designer needs to revisit your site with this in mind.

I am currently doing Local SEO for a Dylexia Centre and a regional car valeter. I would be happy to give you a price for yours too.

However, I would like to see the new site layout and design before I give you a price as it's very difficult to quote on something you can't see (I don't know the volume of work that will be required)

Normally when I am working on a new site I have been involved from the start and the designer would work from my specifications. If I can view where the design and build is at I can advice on any changes to aid SEO that would be required.
