Go Pro or not Go Pro, that is the question?

Looking at buying a small handheld camera for vlogging, filming a couple of gym walk throughs for business use on our sports forum, Facebook etc., and for personal use filming live bands.

Top of the shortlist is the DJI Pocket 2 https://www.amazon.co.uk/DJI-Pocket...ocphy=9044924&hvtargid=pla-987119576580&psc=1
....................but everyone I talk to says get your wallet out and get a GoPro?

Has anybody got or used one of these?

Apologies if this rubs the fur of forum members who specialise in video up the wrong way, the object is not to change the world but to improve on the very raw footage I shoot on my iphone, to show customers (mainly volunteers in the sector) that a little consideration given to the 10 minutes of rambling crap that their nephew or bandmembers girlfriend shot is doing them no favours and that a couple of minutes of relevant stuff would do them some good.

They were good years ago but these days more pile of unstable shit that crashes and overheats. It's the name not the tech anymore.

Have a look at Sony's vlog tech if you have time. Video quality and image quality are the main areas in which you can clearly see that the Sony RX0 II is a cut above true action cameras. If pure quality of footage is your main priority, you’ll probably want the RX0 II over the GoPro or the Sony FDR X3000 Action Cam.

Also there is other tech out there,

Cheers. I quite liked the DJI Pocket 2 as it has a Gimble and although I had to Google to find out what it was, think it could be useful.

I've been using a Zoom Q3HD for years now to record my songs and live music. The sound is top quality, video pretty good. Of course there are always new versions and many makes. A friend uses Gopro to video his drumming and gets excellent results. With the Zoom you do need to upload to computer as does not have a live function like a webcam.

The zoom is an audio product that also takes great pictures, other smaller video camera products have very variable sound capabilities. My Gopro's have been reliable but have pretty awful audio and you can't connect them easily to the outside world, so if you want to have decent quality audio from you speaking, then that's a good reason to consider the zoom.
