Giving bank details to Quickbooks

Hi. Looking at Quickbooks I see that they offer an option of linking to your bank account. However they require all your security details in order to do this. Is this a safe or sensible thing to do? I know Quickbooks are well established but is it a risky thing to pass on these details in this way?

Feeds through such cloud accounting platforms will either be direct feeds from the bank or through a recognised intermediary such as Yodlee. Your details are encrypted and Intuit will not be able to decipher them.

If you aren't comfortable with it why not look at systems where you manually import bank transactions?

I use Accounts Portal and it takes about 2 minutes to log into online banking, download a CSV file of all bank transactions and import it into the system.

Most (if not all) of the systems which offer bank feeds also offer CSV uploads. Quickbooks does for sure.
