Hello people

I just had an A5 flyer designed and I am looking for a company to print it.

Obviously loads of companies turned up on google, but does anyone know one that they can recommend?

Thanks

Hi

We have a couple of specials on at the moment.

We can do you:

  • 1000 x Double Sided A5 Flyers on Glossy 135GSM for £65 Delivered.
  • 1000 x Double Sided A5 Flyers on Silk 170GSM for £75 Delivered.
  • 5000 x Double Sided A5 Flyers on Silk 170GSM for £95 Delivered.

There is normally no VAT incurred on Flyers provided it meets the spec outlined by HMRC (We can check this for you once we see the artwork)

There are different types of paper and different weights.

  • 130-135GSM - Standard Flyers Weight
  • 160-170GSM - Slightly thicker paper - good for flyers
  • 250GSM - Thin Card
  • 350-400 - GSM - Medium/Thick card usually the standard for business cards

The most common types of paper is uncoated, silk and gloss.

  • Uncoated - colours and image sharpness may deteriorate.
  • Silk papers - Are less absorbent and give better colours and sharper pics than uncoated. They have a low sheen coating.
  • Gloss paper - Has generally enhances the colour and sharpness of pics furthermore than silk and has a higher sheen coating.

Thanks

Matt

Matt: Thanks for explaining that to me. It's a lot more helpful than all the sale pitches I got!

I was wondering about weight.. most companies offer 350 gsm for flyers. I have never seen an advert flyer on thick card.. is this common??

Not really. It won't make any particular difference to sales, so the extra cost for a higher GSM is a bit of a waste.

Also, higher GSM flyers are thicker, more rigid and more difficult to handle. They can't be folded up as well as thinner flyers and they take up a lot more room compared to thinner flyers in delivery and distribution.

Higher GSM flyers might be good in some situations. For example, if you're selling a highly premium service or product and your flyers need to look extremely fancy. They're also useful if you're using the flyers for information or feedback forms in a single place as opposed to handing them out everywhere. Again though, cheaper low GSM flyers will usually do the job in these circumstances too.

You are more than welcome.

Scott Copy is made a good point with ref to the thickness. I think 350GSM on an A5/A4 is overkill. It sort of depends whether you are using them, like scott said 350GSM aren't as easy to fold, and if you are handy them out to passers by it easy as convenient for them to fold and stick in their pockets/coats

A6 however are good on thicker card (even 250GSM is fine). They are easier to push through letterboxes. We did some door to door the other day in some towns and 250Gsm were just enough to push through the bristles and other gumpf that letterboxes seem to have nowadays.

Thanks

Matt

To be honest I would always go with the premium board over a flimsy option. They're there to market your brand, and the higher the quality of the board and the print, the more the client will respect your brand image.

No hidden costs.

Otherwise you can go for 170 GSM Gloss for £70.00
