Hi,

I'm looking to get a Slush Machine and an Ice Cream machine for my Newsagents and was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere I can get one cheap or on lease. I tried to lease one from another company but they said I had to be a homeowner.

To go back to the original point about leasing, it is quite usual for lenders to require a home-owning guarantor on younger/smaller businesses

Most will require the guarantor to be a director - some won't

Dependent on history we can sometimes get around this requirement

This is ours, we brought outright but you can lease them on a purchase lease so it's yours at the end of the agreement. With vat and interest it worked out at around £50-60 a month. You could make that £50 monthly payment back in a day or 2 easily if you've got a school nearby, so the other 28 or so days of the month are yours!

My advice if you cant get one on finance is to put it on a credit card. We sell for £1 each in a good quality large slush cup, the slush comes from a friend of mine who runs a nearby sweet shop. We make just under 85p a slush. This is something that takes 20 seconds to serve.

Take those figures and work out how long it would take to pay off. Go conservative on your sales and you'll still be shocked at how quickly you can pay it off. Also go for as big a machine as you can as when the sun is out you'll struggle to meet demand as they take a while to get to temperature.
