Get yourself on People Per hour

I normally wouldn't say this but after a great 2 weeks, I am beginning to like PPH.

Ok, it's full of workers from the far east who work for peanuts, but there are real people on there who want real work done for real value.

In the last 2 weeks, I have had 6 calls from PPH users, as they found my profile and contacted me in regards to paid work away from PPH.

All I have ever done in PPH is set up a profile with links to work, my expertise and that's it.

So, if you are a service based company, get a profile set up on PPH and other similar sites as you may be missing out on work.

PPH is great because you can search users, by expertise, location and price range. It's becoming a great tool for me and I will be making more use of it (better profile).

I have used it and employed several people. Yes you do get a lot of far east type offerings but unless it is an ultra simple project that is defined exactly i avoid them.

Dont worry about being the cheapest. As a buyer i just look at the two categories...the ultra cheap or the Uk/usa based lot who have a decent price and can discuss the work. It is never just price so you dont have to put in silly ultralow offers.

Oh the only way people like me can judge you is to look at your portfolio. so have one or at least discribe every project you have done similar to my project. The people who offer everything from website design to database management for instance tend to lose out because they look as if they farm it out or are just covering too many bases. If necessary have two profiles so you look like an expert in that particular speciality.

Used it for over a year spent 4K plus on there.

I've found some great people on it.

I use it primarily for appointment makers.

I`m happy paying thru their systems - its easy, invoiced and I believe protects both you and the freelancer.

I also tried Freelancer.co.uk recently which was rubbish and cost me for deleting a job after the applicants were unsuitable.
