General partnership tax return - commercial software needed for online submission?

Hi,

I've been asked to submit general partnership accounts, which I've not done before, but it should be straightforward. It's too late for the paper form, so it'll need to be done online.

However, I've just downloaded the paper form to get an idea. and it states that if submitting online, you'll need to buy commercial software. Is that true? They are using a spreadsheet to record everything at the moment. If commercial software is absolutely necessary, can anyone recommend the cheapest solution please?

Many thanks.

HMRC have a list of software suppliers for Self Assessment here https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...sessment-online-commercial-software-suppliers

TaxCalc (which I have used in the past) sell single user licences https://www.taxcalc.com/partnership-tax-return-software
