GDPR - Is it really ok to delete customer data?

I'm a little confused by the new GDPR that states that customers can choose to delete all of their data with you. Aren't we supposed to keep all records (invoices etc) for the passed 5 years for tax reasons? Does this not apply now?

This does not effect what is on a customer invoice
If you read the GDPR forum at the top of list of sub forums you will find some good advice
