What would you do if every week on bin day you awoke to find your neighbours rubbish all over your lawn(I mean lots of it), because the neighbours would overfill their bins. What would you then do if they picked the rubbish up off their lawn and left rubbish on your lawn and blowing around the close?

Would you

A) Ask them politely to pick the rubbish up?
B) Report them to the council?
c) Pick it up and put every last bit through their letterbox?
d) other

1) Ask them politely to pick it up.
2) Ask again, politely, for them to pick it up.
3) Advise them of the £500 refuse disposal bill they will be invoiced should you need to contract a waste removal firm to clear their waste from your property.

I tried A, and did C. B maybe done later if I get time.

Thanks Beachcomber, but they're a bunch of scroats, doubt they have two penneth to rub together. Mind you, the number of kids in the house then I'm guessing they don't do bad out of the Government.

Dont pick it up and put it back on their property. Technically you could be found guilty of littering. There was of a case of this happening to a woman who picked up a bit of paper in a street thinking it was money, when she realised it wasnt she put it back and got nicked for littering.

Put it through their letterbox so don't see littering as an issue. Plus it's all on private land. Although I think it would be hilarious if they tried to sue me for littering. Kind of like suing someone for pouring water into the sea.

Noooooooo!!! Do "D" ......... it's their litter, after all, and you don't want to be charged with theft.
Clearly, if they didn't want it they would have put it in their bin. Since they decorated their lawn (and now yours) with it, clearly they have a use for it. So yeah ........... Definitely "D" (but don't let them see you do it, particularly if they have tatoos and are bigger than you)

Ugggghhhh!!! Gross!!!! With an a**e like that she definitely won't be able to catch you if you run, so that's a good thing ....... unless she has a partner (does she? really?) who could catch you ........ then she could sit on you.
Suppose getting all that Iceland ready meal packaging in one wheelie bin must be a struggle ........... how disgusting.
Still, I wouldn't worry about it too much, she'll explode soon.

All of the above sounds fair TBH

1. You've informed them politely that they have littered the area.
2. After placing it politely through her letterbox, you are showing her that there are far worse consequences to come if she does it again
3. By Reporting her to the Council, you have brought it to their attention that the lazy cow could be the culprit of other littering in the area, they'll produce a file, create a case by filming her during the day eating Micromeals, discarding rubbish through her own letterbox because she's misunderstood your actions and thought "wahheyyy!! so that's what that tiny little hole is for" (typical really of a lazy cow ;) ) and record her actions throughout the rest of her life until she realises she's being followed by a council worker wearing a hi-viz and eat him.

Then she'll be done for murder, and she'll drive off in her fiat panda, tailgating Cobby they'll pull out the stingers as Cobby drives over, killing her because she'd panick, turn the wheel with her spare tyre, slamming into a brick wall... they'll cremate her, and scatter her ashes on her lawn... which will ultimately blow onto your lawn, but you won't care anymore because you'll have moved to a new town with the new love of your life called Barry... who would be a gay priest.

Hmmm yup, think I've covered everything there for you.

(It's a Coca Cola moment!)

:D

Doodles no partner. At the last count(or so as far as I am aware) in the 3 bed semi there are 1 mum(with the big ass aged circa 50), daughter(aged circa 25), with 3 kids 3 diff father, 1 of which is a baby and she is pregnant again, one other daughter, boyfriend, 14 cats. I doubt she can read let alone drive! :D

AA - Spot on, only thing I would say is running off with a priest name Barry!, his name would have to be Keith! :p ahaha

Aha, but you THINK she has no partner .......... she could have lots of them all hidden in the folds of her flab ........... lost for years festering but still eligible for their benefits.........
they sound like lovely neighbours - how joyful for you, I expect you (and we) are supporting them too.
Gives me a nice warm feeling ......... oh, sorry, it's vomit.

Definitely supporting them! The funny thing was half of the bag of rubbish I put through was hanging on the outside of the letterbox (it got stuck) and yet they left it there all day. Probably thought it was nice?!?!

Believe it or not it is actually quite a nice area(by Hull standards)! :p

She would still most likely get a hold of you as you would be trapped in her gravity well and ripped apart atom by atom at her event horizon.

Can you answer a question for me Steve ? I was brought up (back in the Iron age) near Hull (Walkington) and my father's business was in Hull.

We moved when I was about 10. I have a memory of an expresion... 'they are a bit Hessle road'. What would that have meant -I am sure it wasn't a compliment?

I am talking about a long time ago so maybe it's no longer relevant. I have very fond memories of the area actually.

Ohh..I would report to the council Its all you can do without some potential comeback on yourself

I believe it's meant to be an observational insult, based upon the area "Hessle Road" being a bit of a dump, the poor area as it where.

'they are a bit Hessle road' = to be poor

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. :)

AA is part right. It depends though what context the statement is used in. That kind of comment used to be reserved for all the loud mouthed fish wives that used to reside there. Since the fishing industry was destroyed the area is now overrun with crack heads and hookers - it is a well known red light district. So the statement used now probably implies a lady is not so pure! :p

It depends on how well you get on with your neighbours.

My garden is a windtrap and often it's the case that various neighbours wheelie bins blow over and the entire streets rubbish ends up in my garden.

I recognise this as something that can't be helped and simply pick up the rubbish and put it in my bins. It annoys the heck out of me, but they can't stop the wind blowing their bins over. It's a design flaw. If they overfill them then that's another matter but I suspect we all do that from time to time.

Overall i think my neighbours wouldn't be happy to know their rubbish wound up in my garden and would rectify it as they're good folk. I just don't find it a big enough deal to risk good neighbour relations.

Don't mistake the above for passivity on my behalf. When I kept finding dog poo in my front garden my plan was to return it to the dog owner..right in their hand. So passive is one thing I am not. I just weigh up what requires a response and what does not.

That would be it -loud mouthed fish wives ! Strangely enough my father was involved in the winding down of the trawling fleet..sad days indeed. Crackheads did not exist in his day. Can't comment on the other social group you mention.:)

Get on with all the other neighbours. The wind simply exacerbates the situation. These people are just soap/work/paying tax/using contraceptives shy.

Yes sad indeed. It's only one recession later that the fish docks will be transformed into a green energy production area(siemens plant). Good move, just a shame it will only end up replacing the jobs lost by BAE closing their plant at Brough.

Yep not sure what I'd do in this scenario. I know from experience reasonning is not an option, neither is agression so perhaps only alternative is a report to the council. Let them deal with it.

Council opened a case and closed it because when they drove round there was no rubbish and their bin wasn't over flowing (it was the day after collection day they came round and myself and other neighbours picked the rubbish up(albeit what I collected I posted through their letterbox)....

It appears as though the council only enforce rules against those who do follow them, they don't seem to enforce against the serial offenders. That's fine though, any rubbish will continue to be posted through their letterbox......not like I got better things to do with my time......oh actually wait a minute! :p
