FULFILMENT & STORAGE SERVICES

We are looking for a company/companies (preferably in London or within an hour from London) that offer small business warehousing/fulfilment + distribution services on a short-term basis as well.

Any suggestions/recommendations would be welcome?

Just out of curiosity, why is it preferable that the fulfilment company is in or near London? I would guess that it is because your company is in London, but just wondered if there were any other reasons?

We are based in Dorset, but don't have any what I would call, "local" customers. Our nearest customer is based in London. So wondering what I could offer the local customers that they would not be able to get from a fulfilment company further away?

We are a new company, small but growing steadily, and have interest from companies all over the UK, it would just be nice to also have some customers from Dorset.

Why would you have to visit?

I closed down storage at Big Yellow and switched to a fulfillment service from another country, that is the beauty of these places you do not have to physically do anything, just pay!

I think it is fantastic.. for example 2 mins ago i got an order for 24 quid a small product (Golf Towel).. i just click a button and paste an address and it will arrive and i have a happy customer on Tuesday when they get this.

Fulfillment services IMO are worth every penny.. I hate packing stuff and it is not exactly practical when you spend most of the year abroad.

And is that a necessity to visit the fulfilment centre, to put procedures in place, or is it more of just to meet them and see what they are like - so more of seeing what sort of company they are?

Fulfillment is in the UK this allows ME to not be!

Ah, sorry, I misread - I did think it was a bit strange.

When I do a stall at an event, I go to my fulfilment company to collect stock, and then return any unsold items after the event. The fact that it is not too far from London is perfect for me.
(And one of the reasons I use a fulfilment company is that I also live in another country and the fulfilment company is in the UK!)
