Fulfilment company in Hong Kong

Good evening! I am currently using a fulfilment company here in the UK trading within a niche market. Many of my products originate from suppliers in Hong Kong. Domestic and international shipping prices are high here in the UK. Also getting the products over from HK is expensive (FedEx shipping + duties + being VAT registered eats into my margins).

I am wondering how difficult it would be for me to work with a fulfilment company over in Hong Kong. I also need to find out whether the suppliers would allow it but I don't see many reasons why they wouldn't. Has anyone had any experience doing this? Do you know of any fulfilment companies that can be trusted?

I'd like to keep my business here in the UK but this seems a great way of expanding worldwide due to low shipping prices, maybe I'd set up a new website. Expanding outside of the country is difficult with the limitations of being located in the UK.

I've checked Shipwire and their shipping prices are ridiculous, so that's out of question. Looking at the HK Post website, it appears that you can send 250g from HK to the UK for £4 (with tracking too - this will be needed as my products are high value, e.g. £15-£120). I may need to go over to HK for this to work and that isn't a problem.

Can anyone help? It will be much appreciated.
