I know faxes are rather out of date but I have a couple of suppliers who have asked for fax details. As I don't see me using faxes very often has anyone used/use one of the free fax to email company's?

I have noticed fax-number who give an 084 number and then email faxes via pdf to you and this would be ideal. Can anyone recommend any others?

(sorry if this is in the wrong section but I couldn't find anywhere else to fit the question)

Hi,

I've used eFax (co.uk/com) for years.

They do a free months trial - sign up, fax, then make a note to cancel within a month.

You can get all kinds of telephone numbers too.

Oh, I have never worked for them. I just get enthusiastic when something works… a good bank, dentist, plumber…

We bought a small phillips fax/phone just for this purpose. We use it about 3 times a month for just one supplier (government) that has no facilities to converse by email or letter. When we need it, we pull it out of the cupboard, plug it in the phone socket, use it then put it away again. I think it cost me about £15 from ebay.

I use eFax too, I like their service, it works well and is very cheap - however, not one person gets our fax number without me laughing at them and telling them it isn't the eighties any more.

Fax is just shoddy, most printers have an auto scannery function on now!

Hi we use soho66 - you just email the fax to the them with the number and they convert to pdf and send, very good, reliable and cheap. http://soho66.co.uk/

A slight aside but this is qi, in place that in many ways comes across as embracing ultra modern technology the fax still rules supreme - http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/14/w...fax-machine-is-anything-but-a-relic.html?_r=0

The weirdest thing about that link (apart from the boss looming over his staff) is the girl in the photo wearing a face mask at work.....
