Hi all, thought this might be helpful to some of you. Sorry if this has been posted before, I did search but couldn't find anything.
I have been using an program called Manager for a little while now to keep track of all of my income and expenditure and have to say for a small business it's fantastic! There are a couple of paid versions and a free version (local to your computer), for me the free version has covered everything I need, just have to make sure to do backups just in case of data loss. As a graphic designer the best thing for me is that it is available on Mac as well as Windows, I struggled to find many other free options for Mac.
You can record your payments and expenses, log time, create invoices and reports really easily. I have no background in accounting at all, but as a startup it's been such a relief to find an easy to use program that covers all of this rather than using spreadsheets.
There are a few little quirks, but once you get your head around it's great and the support over on their forum is really good too.
I know this sounds like an advert but I have no link with the company at all, just really impressed with the product and wanted to share. Hope this helps some people out.
