We are new to the franchising market and understand the importance of a good contract. We therefore spent £1000 for a contract from a company, whom we now know to be extremely unreliable, in that they are on the radar of two high profile banks!

Our franchise launch is 1 May and as you can imagine we are now extremely worried. Is there anyone on the forum that could take a quick look at the contract and advise us please?

    Thank you :)

Seems like I attract sharks these day, and no idea if we can recoup our money :(

    Will give Suzanne a call.

oh dear - sharks as pets are not good.

Good luck with it - I hope Suzanne can help you out. :)

Love the initial quote re sharks :D

Seriously though, to anyone who is considering franchising their company, PLEASE check for references first. I would hate anyone else from the forum to be caught out like we have.

    Thank God for UKBF :)

I take it your are franchising your business (and therefore need a standard form franchise agreement to use with all your franchisees) rather than taking franchise (and need someone to review the franchise agreement your franchisor has prepared). You've had someone develop an agreement of some sort, but you're not happy with it and need someone to review it for you.

I do quite a lot of franchise work (both for franchisors and franchisees) and would be happy to take a look. As with all contracts it's important it reflects what you are actually going to be offering.
