Hi i was wondering if anyone can please give me info on a football coaching business. How to start it up and then how to get work. I have all relevant coaching qualifications up to a UEFA B licence and i have developed a curriculum of practices/activities which i believe can truly help children improve at playing football. What i really need help and advice with is how to get jobs working in schools as ppa, lunch time or after school classes and how the business can make money from this. Also, any details on running a soccer school etc would be appreciated. If people could please tell me all the different revenue streams available to football coaches that would help me greatly with my decision to pursue this or not. Cheers

Hi koplegend, I presume (could be wrong) from username that you are based in or around Liverpool ? Football coaching is a very competitive market. You have an advantage straight from the off though being qualified to UEFA B.

I am based in Newcastle and a friend of mine runs a coaching school during the summer holidays for a couple of schools.

It took him a while to get it off the ground, but the best advice I could probably give you is to get a decent business plan in place with competitive rates and get yourself out to the local council and independent schools and start pitching what you can offer.

You say you have developed a curriculum, make that your strongest selling tool to the people you pitch.

Good luck with everything and would be good to know how you get on.

Thanks for the replies. I coach two amateur teams locally both youth teams so i think i have a fairly good foundation to work from for soccer schools etc but i want to know how to go about approaching schools or local authorities and what i need to show them and basically how the whole process works as i believe this is what could help me go full time with my coaching. It would be another source of income but also i could pitch my soccer schools to the kids and their parents at these sessions. Anyone have any experience dealing with schools etc? How do i get in touch with them and how are u paid? Cheers
