Finding wholesalers

Hi there people,
I've been using this forum for quite a while, and I have to say, I have found it useful.

I have a question to those of you especailly who are trading via e-commerce.

How did you find your wholesalers, I know that they are difficult to find. I spend quite a bit of time on wholesale forums, but they don't really give me what I'm looking for.

Did you do it via trade magazines, internet?

Any help would be appreciated

It really depends what business you're in, but I use all sources - internet, trade mags, reviews of new products and (best of all) ring up a similiar business that is too far away to be a competitor and pick their brains.

Hi there! I find most of my wholesalers through ads at the back of trade publications. A tip: try to use wholesalers from other countries to get a great deal and some unusual products. I find this really gives me an edge over my competition.

The Trader is a magazine - you can buy it from wh smith

Alibaba's good, but there are so many scams on there. It is hard to know who to trust.

In addition to the advice previously given, I'd advise that you invest in a copy of this ebook:

It really is good - bang up to date (plus free updates), UK based, and covers all types of wholesalers. I know there are a lot of ebooks out there full of absolutely tosh, but this one really is worth the money. By the way I'm not in any way affiliated with them so have no ulterior motive for recommending it!

There is also a very good 'traders' forum that I visit that I could give you the url for, but I'm not sure if its allowed to post urls to other forums here??
