I know you are probably talking about commercial suppliers rather than domestic but on the later I have been looking at our own here for the house, many spread sheets later and looking at all the numbers ive ended up staying where I am. However on the service side of things the customer service offered by a couple of the major players was at the extreme of awful, EDF being a complete shambles.

I've been looking around for electricity quotes as my 2-year fixed deal is soon coming to an end and prices have doubled in that time. I don't want to give Bionic my contact details so I haven't been able to use comparison sites.
I use 27000 kWh/year and these are the prices I can find (excluding VAT and CCL):
    Octopus : 31.15p /kWh 80.56p /day £725.24/ month
British Gas Lite: can’t supply me?
EDF, pay by DD: 1 year fix: 30.1p/kwh 25p/day £684/month
EDF, pay by DD: 2 year fix: 29.7p/kwh 25p/day £676/month
EDF, pay by DD: 3 year fix: 30p/kwh 25p/day £682/month
    SSE 2 year fix: 31.224/pwh 90.08p/day £730/month
    Scottish Energy 3 year 31.3/kwh 130.24/day £740/month
    Engie: very expensive >£1k/month
    Utilita: 1 year 34.565/kwh 51.76/day £795/month
So EDF are giving the cheapest quotes. I'm reluctant to go with them because they supply my domestic electricity and their customer service has been terrible but you can't really argue with the numbers.
