Hi all,
I am considering running a catering stall at festivals and I have a query about paying casual staff.
My understanding of minimum wage rules is that all staff must be paid the minimum wage. However, I have worked for caterers at several festivals in the past and many employ staff on the basis that they get a free ticket to the festival and perhaps a food allowance in exchange for working, but is this legal? Or should staff actually be paid for hours worked?
