Fed up and had enough

I'm bored; I have several successful businesses, some which make a handsome profit and others that have had their day but I will not close because they don't cost me anything and keep people I like and respect in work.
I hasten to add that if I never lifted another finger all of these companies would be okay, but I am fed up and bored; I need a challenge, something that makes my blood boil.
I have searched and searched but nothing excites me; I've done my bit for charity and I volunteer for CAB, but I am bored.
I've tried being a mentor and angel but the caliber of opportunities makes you want to cringe.
Perhaps it's time to just go home?

Stock investments? FTSE etc.

Small business investments (not the startups but businesses that are going and need some extra input or cash for innovative applications)

Bungee jumping...naked?

Extreme knitting perhaps?

Big Brother?

ok so the last three were wild stabs in the dark.

You can come and play with me if you like - it won't earn you much money but transforming boring everyday items into something unique and beautiful is at least not boring!

Thankfully I have never seen him... so I'm kind of picturing someone that looks like Grissly Addams

Why not travel? Experience how the rest of the world live, their dreams and aspirations, the different foods, ...

Or you can go for the fastest wealth reduction agent I know, a girlfriend :)

I've done all that, how do you think I finished up here? Quite like the second idea but I can't see the missus going a bundle on it.

Too much money and too much time.

I heard a wise man say once, live every day like it's your last - one day it will be.

Now some could take that as a threat but truth is death is always a heartbeat away, not one of us knows the hour or the minute. There are many blessings to count. Live life to the full with a full heart.

As for boredom, I really have not got a clue. I do not get bored. Have you got a telly?

Take a leaf out of Howard Hughes - that should keep you going

Everyone goes though this :)

When I hit my entrepreneurial wall I ended up closing two viable businesses and spent a while starring into the ideas abyss.

In the end my problem was about the purpose of running a business. I've never been hugely driven by money for the sake of it, but I discovered it was far more important for me to share the experience or journey of creating and growing a business rather than arriving at any destination.

I Love Spreadsheets

I know a couple that became a few million short of billionaires overnight when the large insurance company they helped found floated on the stock market.

The husband is still working hard at the insurance company but the wife is running a charitable trust and loving every minute of it. She gets to work on lots of projects that save lives and have massive impacts on peoples lives.

She tries to educate fund-raisers on how to make the most from donations. For example she will provide a fund raiser with seed money and help them turn a profit from that. For example I used to raise money to take part in aid convoys to Kosovo, rather than give me money for the trip we would sit down together and put together ideas for fundraising ideas. She would then provide the seed money and I would do all the work. Doing that we managed to turn £200 of seed money into £15,000 at one event.

The other help she could provide was putting fund raisers in touch with the right people at potential sponsors, the local media, etc.

Perhaps this could appeal to your need for challenges? Everyone who works in the door is potentially a new business challenge and the projects they are supporting are challenges in other ways.

It would also be a great use of all the contacts you have built up
