Having just got back into ecommerce after some doing mainly accounting and stock control intranets and driver development, I find SEO becoming quite an interesting pursuit.

I still think it is mainly about the site itself and offline advertising, but it is actually quite enjoyable tracking down the little gems in pursuit of the 'edge' :)

I haven't been off the web all that time, and run a few domains, but I don't really bother with SEO beyond the basics, they are mainly there for something to show clients and for our own personal interests. But, I now find myself optimizing the sites a bit, and looking to consolidate some of the domains. I notice I have been quite a generous linker in the past :)

So what is your favourite or best SEO book?

I will start the ball rolling, mine is, as often it is, an O'Reilly Book:

Website Optimization by Andrew King.

Mark Nagurski

I think Aaron Walls SEO ebook is good. I bought it when it was available as a pdf. (It now seems that he has changed the way it's distributed, You now get access to online resources instead of a pdf ebook.)

Ditto.

SEO Book is now a subscription-based 'interactive learning environment' - i.e. you can ask questions etc.... $100 a month

If you don't fancy forking out then sub to his blog - good, if not as specific / technical info.
