Fasthosts

Anyone use fasthosts for site hosting?

I am using their sitebuilder, but as I'm not a great designer the sites are looking poor.

Is it possible to use something like Dreamweaver to build the site then upload to fasthosts dashboard?

Thanks in advance

Bill

I just want to say one thing: Stay away from fast hosts / 1&1. Servers are piss poor and the CS is even worse...

It depends on your account, can you upload files? Just create the files in dw then ftp them to the server (if it allows you)

    Hello,

Surely its possible if you are aware of dreamweaver just create your site files and FTP those files under http document folder under your hosting space.

I think fasthost offer cpanel so you need to upload your site files under public_html folder.

It might be worth buying a simple template online if you're not as strong on the design side of things.

Then you could use Dreamweaver populate the site if you have some basic programming skills.

    Many Thanks

    Hi,

Never used fasthosts, but if php is setup, then along with your ftp access you could use a flatfile content management system (cms). You would probably need to play around with templates though as flat file cms's have limited ones available.

Nanocms is a flat file cms i've used many a time. Plus there is a wide selection out there, such as razorcms. Not as good as wordpress, joomla etc, as less developers, plugins, out of the box templates etc. However no need for a mysql db as wordpress, joomla etc require. Plus they are generally very fast to load web pages.

    Best Regards

    Andrew
