If everything is still screwed up, drop me a PM with the URL of your site and I'll host the site & email for you if you wish. I'll even migrate it into our CMS platform so you can update the site yourself and add the news system onto it so you can add news articles (basically a blog by any other name!), as long as its a small-ish site, I'll do the migration for free and match whatever your new guy is charging for hosting.

My offer still stands, your new hosting 'company' (i.e. this bloke) sounds like a right nightmare! I assume you signed some sort of contract with him, surely within that contract it doesn't state that stating his company name online will result in him shutting down your site!

Out of interest, is your domain a .co.uk or .com?

You could do, but if the guy's threatened to take his website offline for naming him, chances are he'd drag his heels over transferring the domain away as well. Last thing you want is for the website to be done for a month whilst he decides to transfer the domain over.

Hence my question about whether its a .com or .co.uk. The latter you can transfer away from him without him having a say. With .coms you can't.

Do you have control of the domain or did you transfer the domain also to the "guy"?
Carl - doesn't matter with .co.uk domains. As long as the domain registrant is down as GasAngel (or his real name, obviously!), then you can change registrar direct with Nominet, the guy hosting the site has no say in it.

If you want, PM me the name of the domain and I'll PM you back the registrant info, that way you can see if its correct.
