They may sound like a silly question, but everyone seems to have a facebook page etc these days but when you go to create one for your business/product etc what category would you choose, brand/product or local business or company or organisation and does page category matter in the grand scheme of things or is it more to do with the actual content or what it is your planning to promote using the page.

Also if you have expansion plans in the future to other countries do you set up a new page for every country or do you have 1 page and then have multiple posts in multiple languages etc?

Would appreciate your feedback on this even if it sounds oxymoronic in the first place.

Many thanks

Hi, Categories give you different options to show on your Page. If you select Brand then you can't have an email etc. There's a chart available from Facebook that goes into more detail (search under FAQs - I'm not allowed to provide links yet). I can't help with different countries as I only work in the UK, however, I suspect that you'd get a better response if you had a page for each country. You can always use something like Hootsuite to schedule posts to all the different pages (rather than going into each one). Hope that helps.

The categories would help in placing your page in the front of your target customer. For instance if you are a service company and you choose products, or you are an econmerce or online business but you choose local business instead of product/service. chances are that you will attract the wrong audience to your page and if you do adverts on Facebook with a badly set up page, you will just end up wasting your money, advertising to the wrong audience. Setting up the page right is very important
