You could join a Facebook business network.
You could join the various ladder pages, that exist. The likes are free but be prepared to work for them. People say that they will come back and like your page, but they always seem to forget. You may have to go to each page and remind them, (in a nice way).

search on facebook for: fan pages, like ladders, like ladders uk, promote my page etc. Some will host several like ladders in a day on their pages.

Don't bother liking too many with your business page, it is your personal page that counts with likes.

FB advertising is okay, you can make it very targeted and get a lot of likes for you page with little cost. However just bear in mind you are buying likes rather than people who actually want to be there.

That said there is no harm in getting likes to boost your visitors, people will spend longer on a page that appears to be active and have a following.

Just don't go overboard with the reach. In other words be very specific at what message your are trying to get across and keep it to just the locations that will benefit you. As attractive as it may be to reach out to 5M in the USA they may add no value and be no use to you.

For B2C it can work if your business is B2B then it's not very effective.

More LIKES are useless if you work in a local area, invest some money in a Facebook ad campaign and geo target the potential customers, there are even some free vouchers knocking around. At least that way a "like" might turn into a customer that BUYS

Though anybody looking at a medium sized business with thosands of likes will pretty much know thats what you've done.

I tend to view pages with more interaction and less likes to have far more credibility than a page where not much is happing which has many likes.

To be honest the easiest way to get likes is by sending it out to Friends, Relations and Media outlets in your local areas. Next step is to use the Networking Pages, UK Business, UK SME's. But make sure you have relevant links and content on your page to encourage them to read what you do. Facebook Advertising with the recent changes can be hit and miss.

Has anybody actually paid for the Facebook PPC advertising. This is something I have been considering for use with our company page but I worry about the ROI.
