Hi All
Well I need to create some eye popping banners on my website. They will be used for people to download and use as link from there site. What software is good for this Pain Shop Pro???? Can anyone help me???

Thanks
Mat

it is not technology you need but talent.. pretty much any of the paint packages can help you produce the artwork for the web. Paint Shop Pro would be a cost effective choice. Flash is increasingly common for banners though.
Avoid gif based animation though.

Mathew,

Maybe try posting in the tenders forums - My personal preference is I always try to put business other forum members way first - but if you have no joy then why not try http://www.bannersmall.com we've used them in the past for quite a few banner campaigns.

Response is fairly quick - we had a couple of slow projects but majority went v well.

Have you tried making your own? Some of the best adverts I've seen are simple and maybe you have the skills....maybe you haven't thought about having ago?

One thing we realised - not many look at banners when using search engines - the view of those searching is occupied nearly a third of the way down the page.

Probably explains why our excite banner (top and side) doesn't receive many click throughs even though it is only displayed when our sponsored term is searched for :(

Kyber! What's up with using gif based animation? If done right it can look decent and still have a small file size :)

And Mathew if your seriously want to make your own banners with either photo-shop or flash then be prepared to put a lot of time aside to learn how to use them as they can be fairly fiddly to the first time user (particularly flash).

Your are right. Do not know why I said it; perhaps associated in my mind with annoying/distracting little animations that use to plague websites a few years ago. Nothing wrong with a good GIF animation at all.
