EXW - how to organise shipping?

I have 200 items of clothing being manufactured on EXW terms in China. The factory had said they could help arrange shipping to me door to door for about $600.

However, I'd like to get a price myself for this. I'm still awaiting exact dimensions and weight which they said they can provide once order is complete. However, I'd expect the package to come in somewhere between 50 - 75kg.

I need some advice firstly on what I should expect to pay for this and also which companies to contact for a quote to handle the shipping.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

The supplier is actually in dongguan which I think is close to Hong Kong.

Would organising courier direct with UPS from here work our to be more economical? I hear sometimes the factory organising courier can work out cheaper.

Thanks

First find out the dimensions and weight of each carton.

Ask your supplier to get quotes from DHL, Fedex & UPS.

They will all be a little different per KG, as well as amount of days arriving (generally between 4 - 10 days).

Choose the one that suits you best.

It's important to note that if the cartons are bulky & light, you will be charged on "volume" weight as opposed to the actual weight of the cartons.

Arranging courier shipping from China is generally more economical.

If I get the supplier to organise the shipping, do they just need to add this to the invoice and identify it separately as the shipping cost? As I understand, there is VAT to be paid on the shipping.

They will be shipping by DHL Express. They don't seem to think there is any additional insurance required to be added for the shipping. Does this sound correct?
