Hi,

I have just bought a WD My Passport, it does everything I need it to do. But is it possible it could be messing with my mouse?

My mouse is old and wireless, with hard drive connected I move the mouse and it jumps or freezes for a split second.

With the hard drive disconnected everything is fine?!?! Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance

It is possible that the hard drive is causing interference, or even perhaps if it is connected within the same "hub" that the hard drive is using all the resources and bandwidth.

Try plugging in your hard drive to the back of your pc instead and see if that helps.

Another possibility is that perhaps the driver for the hard drive is causing pc issues and causing the pc to lock up momentarily, try re-installing the drivers.

But its completely possible that you are getting some sort of wireless interference.

    Are you using a laptop?

Sometimes you'll find a dedicated higher powered USB port for charging devices - sometimes distinguished in another colour.

You might be best off plugging the hard drive into that, or using a Y cable (a cable that splits into two so you can plug it into two USB ports).

Did the other suggestions fix your issue?
