Experiences with Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed Heavier. Concerned about a package.

RM recently introduced the option of sending packages heavier than 2kg internationally, my orders are usually smaller and lower value so I haven't had the chance to try it out until recently. Today I dropped off a package to Norway at a customer service point which was scanned in front of me. It's been a few hours and the RM site tracking just says "tracking information is not available for this service" while the other packages I dropped off have updated.

Of course it's still very early and I've had packages that take a while to update, but considering the price of this order and the message on the site I'm a little concerned. I've only seen this pop up when I've used an untracked service. Nothing yet on the Norway post site either, although that's to be expected. The customer is also a little anxious so I would've at least liked the drop off confirmation.

The only option on click and drop was tracked and signed so I chose that with full £250 insurance, postage ended up being over £28 :/

Was hoping to hear from anyone else whose used this service and if you had the same experience?
 
The parcel will only register for tracking at the next scan point in the sorting office. The new parcel scanners will weigh and measure the parcel to sort for its next transit leg helping steer it towards Norway.
Hopefully, by the time you read this, it will have moved on to the next stage in its journey.

I had the same worry as my parcel was collected with the bring my label option and I had no updates and the same message on RM tracking.

It still shows nothing on the RM website.

However I discovered that the prefix denotes it's an EMS parcel and tracking on the EMS site has updated so they there.

ems.post/en/global-network/tracking

By the looks of it this service only started in the last week or so? So it's probably just kinks being worked out.

I'm trying to be patient since I know it's the weekend but the customer is very concerned and wants answers so I'm trying to give them something.

Mine was picked up at 12pm yesterday and showed up on EMS at 9pm. I do live very close to the new East Midlands Mail Centre though which is where it was scanned into the EMS system.

    Tell them that ir was scanned in on x date and that currently no other information is available. You will get back to them by Monday night.

    What do they EXPECT you to do?

    You're right. This is a pretty high value order so I do understand their concern, although I wish they'd at least give it until Monday. It's my first time using this service so I honestly have no idea either.
