Experience needed - Free help

I hope this isn't against the rules, but I am desperately looking for work but I don't seem to be having any sucess. On Friday I received a negative response within 1 minute of submitting my application via the Reed website - surely not enough time for someone to even open my CV.

I was made redundant in 2007 after 12 years with the same company working as an Account Executive, Database Administrator and then Print Manager for a marketing communications company. I have only had a few temporary positions since then and I need to work - yes don't we all.

I am currently doing an OCR Level 1 bookkeeping course in the evenings which finishes at the end of June, I have completed and passed the first unit for Petty cash and our manual accounts exam is in a couple of weeks with the final unit computerised accounts using Sage at the end of June.

I would like to gain some experience in either sales or purchase ledger as all employers obviously want some experience.

I have over 20 years all round office administration experience with data entry and MS Office skills so I am looking for someone who might need some help and obviously I gain some valuble work experience.

So is there anyone within about 40 miles of Stockport who could do with a hand for a week. I have been prebooked for W/c 9th June but apart from that I am currenty free.

I have had temporary assignments with a defence company and an NHS trust so I understand the need for discretion and confidentiality.

Also if there is anyone out there willing to conduct a CRB check on my behalf which I would pay for I would be very grateful.

I'm sorry you've had no responses so far "diver32", I really do understand what you're going through, I've been there a time or two myself...NOT GOOD!

My only advice - sorry! - is if you've had sales ledger experience is to try temping for a while in credit control, depends on the rates available, but if you're any good there are companies out there who need to get paid - desperately!

I "temped" for about four years, and when I proved myself, I got a number of permanent offers, if it's not for you at least it gets a wage in the door till things get better, and can find that so-called "dream job"!

Best of luck, and good wishes
Geoff
