Hi All,
We run a newsagents / convenience store that we took over last September.
When transferring the National Lottery terminal from the previous owner we encountered some difficulties in obtaining a credit rating for the business as it had only just started trading. This was finally resolved after a prolonged period of negotiation with Camelot.
On Monday just gone we had a meeting with Paypoint to complete all of the forms for a Paypoint terminal.
Myself and my business partner (fiancee) passed the personal credit checks fine but they say that we have failed the business credit check and are to contact Experian to see if we are registered.
Do you need to register a business with Experian for them to monitor your credit status ?
I am concerned that information is held on the property from the previous owners who we believe had a lot of debt before they sold to us and this is been looked at as part of our data/
We own the freehold property with no mortgage and haven't encountered a problem with any other forms of credit accounts with the exception of Camelot when we first took over.
Does anyone have any advice on where to go from here or how we can view the results of a credit check on our business ? I have phoned Experian who sent me some forms to complete and send of with a cheque for £2 to get a credit report on the business but we need to get the Paypoint signed up in the next 7 days or we may lose the right to the terminal.
Thanks
K
