Lets say for arguments sake there are only two words and are very relevant to the product /service .

would this significantly help a new website ?

and how significant is Exact , Broad , Phrase, keyword results when only two words are involved ?

I remember a while ago that exact matches got penalised but is that across the board ?

Thanks .

Not penalised, just not 'preferred'. That said, as I've said before if I was to search for busty blonde and busty-blonde.whatever came up v funny incurred.whatver/bustyblobde I'd probably click the first one (exact match domain).

That said, I'd probably click both!

By the way, I don't believe Google. I'm running some tests on exact match domains and in just two months I got one to position 3 on what in theory is a massively competetive (3 word phrase), doing not much more than a bit of contents and a few links.

Its a difficult one because a computer repair directory I have added my business to, I received a email from the owner asking if I would like to pay to have my business listed on a top keyword domain web page, on page 1 of google, he was doing okay with it until he got hamnered by google and has been dropped by lots of pages.

if you read on forums like warrior they tell you that keyword domain names carries no weight now since the google update.

IMHO keywords in a domain can help...

Really this question is to broad to provide a short answer.

    EMD's have been devalued.

Or should that be low value sites with EMD's have been devalued.

And I agree branding and the quality of the site in question has a big impact.

My view the benefit of a keyword in a domain name is that it resonates with the searcher.

    Branding first IMHO...
