Euro DNS

I would like to hear from other members their view on the domain registration service, EuroDNS.

I have never had as much trouble with domain registration as I've had with EuroDNS. These are not my default registration service although they do offer a variety of continental / international domain extensions which are sometimes unavailable on other registrars.

I have had a irretrievable £163 with No refund allowed nor any refund in credit. This was to purchase a new domain, a .TEL which I reserved and they confirmed it to be mine, until I received an e-mail stating :-

We would like to inform you that your order mentioned above has been closed for the following reason:

* Domain Name(s) already taken

----

Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!

Unless it was a back-order, or associated with other services, they absolutely should credit you for a failed registration. Nothing in section 10 of their T&C's (unless this is a pre-reg/sunrise domain) would stop you getting a credit/refund, I'd suggest contacting them and cc'ing TelNIC in the communications

And £163 for a .tel ? Our normal price (and we are a directly accredited .TEL registrar, not a reseller) is £9.95, and until the end-of-December they're on offer for £4.97 !

Unfortunately if you're expecting any kind of customer service from EuroDNS you are in for a shock. They are rude, arrogant and extremely unprofessional.

We had 40+ domains with them and had endless issues. We eventually transferred all of our domains to another registrar (having to renew all of them in the process).

Unfortunately EuroDNS tried to block the transfer and ignored all of our requests. It was only after our new registrar called them to remind them of their obligations that they actually began to co-operate.

They are also wildly expensive. They advertise fantastic rates but they are usually for the first year only. The renewal prices are often 200-300% more.

Oh and let's not forget their habit of renewing domains you have not indicated you wish to renew. They even do this if you have no automatic payment method on the account - they renew the domain then invoice you and chase you for the payment. Although this didn't happen every time a domain was up for renewal (Perhaps they had quotas to hit or something).

Avoid EuroDNS.

Best of luck sorting this.

Ben

What terms and conditions ? only for the French it seems. At the top of the page is says this - "Please note : This english version is only for informational purpose. The only binding version between EuroDNS and the Customer is the french version."

Thanks for all the replies, I apologise I should have mentioned this price was for a landrush / pre-order. I just thought it was very mis-leading saying the domain was registered reserved, but when the landrush ended, the domain came back as TAKEN with no kind of refund at all.

I'm just ranting. Sorry for my venting! :p
