Error Message when Loading onto FTP

Bad start to the morning, folks.

For the first time, this morning I got the following message when loading up a database file to the server:

"An error occurred coping a file to the FTP server. Make sure you have permission to put files on the server.

Details:
200 Type set to I
227 Entering passive mode (64, 202, 189, 128, 18, 204)
225 Data Connection already open; Transfer starting"

Like I say, it's the first time that this has ever happened. Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong, could someone else be accessing the file... Having a bit of a panic, so if someone could put me straight, that would be wonderful!!

Impossible to say really but i'd speak to your hosts.

Last time we spoke you had got someone else to do your maintenance has that fallen through ?

Gary, no my hosting is all tickety boo. This is for a client. I am slightly panicking now as it's over 3 hrs since I tried and still no joy.

Two quick things:
1- try toggling passive (its not a perms error first bit but pass can cause issues on connecting).
2- do a directory listing with ownership info on both current DIR and levels above. Check that your username that you login with matches the ownership.
