Hi,
I'm looking for a suitable ERP system for our business an i'm extremely frustrated with how old looking the interface is on most of these systems.

We build and convert machinery and are looking for a single system which will handle our core processes.

We are on a SME so investing silly money is not an option. Does anybody have any suggestions for modern ERP systems which may be suitable for an Engineering / Manufacturing company?

One of our resellers develops an ERP system called Encore which is aimed at small to medium manufacturers. They are Anagram Systems they also host the application on our remote desktop service so providing a cloud version to save investing in local IT.

Odoo is great if you want free open souce ERP.

I would not recommend open source, I have seen too many business try to cut corners on their business solutions and fail. This included banks and global companies. In today world of hacking, corruption, business spies open source is just very dangerous. Why would any hard working business want his business golden goose run on open source? I have seen a bank lose 38 billion because of not taking my advice and this was to the full board of directors. Just my two pennies worth.

I can definitely recommend Odoo. The Community version is free, and they do both direct sales & partnerships with implementation specialists. So depending on what you're willing and able to spend, you can get the level of support you need.

Check out Unleashed Software. They consistently get great reviews, don't have silly prices and integrate with common accounting packages.
