EORI Activication

I have received a 'verified' Eori number from HMRC. We have a truck on hold at a UK dock but the Eori number is not 'active'. HOW long should this take? We are incurring costs from the port.

Hi, are you definitely checking this on the UK Gov EORI checker, https://www.gov.uk/check-eori-number, not the EU one, as all GB EORI numbers are no longer listed there?

It can take between 2 and 5 days usually, if longer than that, definitely chase!

The business this number is registered to has not consented to their name and address being shared, so we cannot show it here.

They never asked me if I wanted to consent? I guess it proves it's registered, but it's not very helpful is it?

My XI number on the EU checker says it's valid, but again, has no data

It's been a LONG time since I applied for an EORI, and worked my way through the process, so I can't help with why it can't be seen, sorry.

HMRC due to a tide of new businesses applying for EORI's are aware of an issue with validating the numbers. If you have an EORI issued by our friends and HMRC than it is active, but there are issues on their side
